The administration made an announcement extending the deadline by 90 days for individuals and businesses to pay their federal taxes. Taxes will need to be paid by July 15th. Of note, this does not apply to state taxes, which will need to be paid by the state deadline. Tax payers will still need to file their federal tax returns by the traditional April 15th deadline. It’s only payment that has been postponed. Options to request a six-month extension continue to exist for taxpayers unable to file their taxes by the April 15th deadline. More details can be accessed on the IRS website.
